Playscapes for Inclusion

Faculty – the Online Magazine for Australian Educators – recently published a piece titled Playscapes for Inclusion.

Profiling Brisbane’s City Botanic Gardens, the piece demonstrates the varied angles of “Inclusion” – be it physical challenges, children with sensory processing disorders, through to building a ‘social heart’ where the community can meet and gather.

Especially in the education environment, children of all abilities need to be invited to and feel welcome and comfortable in the playspace, so that play based learning and development can be equally offered to all.
