Ormiston College

Playscape Creations worked with Jeremy Ferrier Landscape Architects on this unique landscape at Ormiston College, with the brief to achieve a vibrant outdoor environment for students to enjoy  lunch and social gathering.  As an added bonus each area can be utilised as an outdoor classroom for individual or group actives.

Playscape Creations provided technical support to achieve a fantastic outcome by cladding concrete features with vibrant colourful Rubbertech Surfacing.

The overall design creates 7 separate colour identified courtyards within the main courtyard, each featuring two different seating style structures – butterfly shaped seating area and a raised seating platform featuring a two coloured striped pattern.

The vertical sides had to be pre-manufactured in our workshop, transported to site and adhered to the existing bases.  Keeping in place and to the correct heights was difficult and required a good deal of patience and expertise with specialised clamping devices we had designed and manufactured specifically for this project.
