Crossroads Homemaker Centre
Crossroads Homemaker Centre is a shopping destination, designed to be a one-stop resource for all things renovation, decoration and inspiration!
This one-of-a-kind playspace is in a central courtyard surrounded by a newly constructed food court, designed to give kids a respite from the rigours of shopping, while their carers can comfortably supervise and enjoy their meals.
Jacinda from the Playscape Creations team worked hand in hand with Architects from Buchan Group and the developer team at Ashe Morgan to create a unique design that would appeal to users of all ages and align with the aesthetic of the complex.
The design teams loved the aesthetic of the hardwood timbers of the Rustik range and selected the Bellthorpe system. An expansive, unstructured piece, the Bellthorpe offers activities for active play, socialisation and safe hangout, while maintaining clear lines of sight across the playground.
One of the major design considerations in this project was the incorporation of the membrane shade into the structural design of the Bellthorpe system. Working with Abacus Shade Design, we engineered our system to be suspended from some of the shade posts, creating a seamless visual impact and making the shade an integral part of the space.
To cater for younger users, the Playdale Tottlebank system was customised with Rustik posts for this project, adding a further tactile and sensory experience for children aged 6 months to 5 years. And rebounding platform was added to the space to give children an additional active play option, and visitors to the space love to bounce!
The design of the rubber softfall is organic in nature and delineates the different play experiences while creating an eye-catching pop of colour within the space! Featuring more than 25 big-brand retailers across furniture, bedding, electrical, lighting, flooring, and lifestyle, Crossroads Homemaker Centre is Casula’s home for living, lifestyle and leisure.
